Euclid - An old Mathematician who still gets Full Marks

This course is full but sometimes we do have people that drop out or we run a second course if there is enough demand. It is definitely worth putting your name on the wait list as we offer places to wait listed children very often. Send your name and details to Patricia Morse and we will add your name to the waiting list.

Description:

Euclidean geometry is a mathematical system attributed to the Alexandrian Greek mathematician Euclid. After the bible, Euclidean's Geometry is the most studied and edited book ever! Today, you will develop a basic understanding of Geometry from a historical perspective. We will touch on his life, time and ideas in a fun and practical way to explore:

· The properties of straight lines
· The relationships between straight lines
· Euclidean axioms
· Properties of basic shapes
· Degree and angle

Take your maths to a new level with the father of maths. What was his secret? What did he know that made him ahead of his time? Why is his name still spoken by physicists, great mathematicians and scientists?

This is maths at its most beautiful. You will see how great artists and mathematicians sometimes collide with geometry and spatial reasoning. Artists and mathematicians alike get your pencil ready and prepare to be inspired by Mr Euclid.
