The Tall Tales and Revolting Rhymes of Roald Dahl


A day of drama, English and creative writing. A creative, fun introduction to the literature, stories and poems of Roald Dahl using props, costumes, characters and text extracts. No prior knowledge of Roald Dahl is needed. Just come prepared to play lots games and take part in practical activities linked to these wonderful books. The day will encompass some creative writing and a presentation of the work created at the end of the day.

Masterclass leader: Lucy Bellingham

Bio: Lucy’s experience within education spans nearly two decades. Her interest in combining drama and education began at Manchester University when she worked with school students and also worked as an assistant director with Manchester Youth Theatre for several years. After a PGCE course in Secondary Drama she completed a Masters in Physical theatre and Performance at the Royal Holloway University. She has performed as a singer and actress in the west end and spent a year in Spain with a touring theatre company. She has spent the last five years, working in two of London’s most outstanding schools in east London, as a middle leader. She now works in the independent sector and is interested in developing strategies for oracy within the curriculum.
