Botanical Dissection and Illustration
This course has already run but we occasionally offer similar classes if there is enough demand. Send your name and details to Patricia Morse and we will notify you about similar courses in your area.
Discover how plants flourish by dissecting stems, leaves and flowers. Working with a magnifying glass under supervision, you will be given your own plant to dissect carefully. Learn about the life cycle of the plant and discover more about the flower sepals, petals, carpal, nectaines, receptacle and stamens. You will be shown examples of botanical illustration and choose and then develop your own style to illustrate and annotate your discoveries using pencil and ink. All drawings will be available to take home.
