Archaeologist for the Day - on a real Dig!

Come and meet an archaeological team and take part in a real dig in the trenches at Clare Castle. You will learn how to dig, wash and illustrate finds from the historic Clare Castle site. This workshop is run by arts facilitator Stephanie Hartick and archaeologist Joanna Caruth and you will be working in small groups for the day. Please wear old clothes and bring a pair of washing up or gardening gloves.

Bio: Stephanie Hartick is a Chartered member of the Landscape Institute and has led and supervised many projects concerning environmental planning and the creation of new landscapes in New Zealand, Central America, Germany and the UK. Stephanie has over 6 years experience in gifted education and in creating workshops dedicated to developing lateral thinking about the environment. She believes that by making education fun and stretching thinking across conventional borders a child’s thinking can be improved in all areas. Stephanie is also a passionate and often messy artist so wear your old clothes to her workshops!
