This course is full but sometimes we do have people that drop out or we run a second course if there is enough demand. It is definitely worth putting your name on the wait list as we offer places to wait listed children very often. Send your name and details to Patricia Morse and we will add your name to the waiting list.
This workshop will teach you to make and control a LEGO robot. Using the most advanced LEGO computer system (EV3 MindStorms) you will design, build and control a robot with sensors for sound, colour, brightness, touch, gyro positioning and sonar and 2 high quality servos to rotate and measure to an accuracy of 1 degree. These can create an extraordinary system!
You will learn about algorithms, loops, if /or logic gates and basic coding. The student version of the LEGO programming language is free so will be able to continue the work at home.
All equipment, such as a computer and a full EV3 expansion set will be provided. Check out more on: http://www.lego.com/en-gb/mindstorms/?domainredir=mindstorms.lego.com. There is a free download of the LEGO software we use on the LEGO site and lots of Youtube clips about how EV3 works. There is also a site called LEGO first league that is all about using these robots .
