Imagine yourself competing in the London 2012 Olympics. How could Science give you the edge? Our cyclists won 14 medals in Beijing and are looking to do even better next year. Science, Engineering and Technology play a vital role in helping our athletes achieve their maximum potential.
You will be investigating the science within a typical bicycle, its structure, braking systems, gears, wheels and safety equipment comparing this throughout with a race-optimised bike. There will be lots of hands-on experiments and challenges.
You will build a bike up from its component parts and learn to adjust and fix your own bike. We shall also investigate its most important component - YOU.
